About The Leon Institute

At The Leon Institute, we are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of academic excellence across all our programs and initiatives.

We offer practical tools for health and housing professionals to see the "whole person" in their care.

Our mission is to provide quality evidence-based and community-defined training and education, engage communities, and conduct and disseminate research to improve health and well-being for people with complex care needs.  These needs include both health and the social drivers of health including poverty, trauma, racism, stigma, housing, food insecurity, and lack of access to care.

The TLI Approach

TLI’s educational approach is learner-centered, featuring problem-based learning and participatory learning methods. This includes case studies, role-playing, self-reflection, critical thinking, and skills practice in real and simulated situations. We aim to prepare care systems and the care workforce to build trusting relationships and to support individuals with person-centered care that respects their needs, values, and preferences in navigating multiple intersecting health and social changes.
